Cineverse Acquires Exclusive Rights to Guillermo del Toro’s Master Creation, Pan’s Labyrinth; Plans for 2026 Premium Format Re-Release in Theaters to Celebrate 20th Anniversary

Multi-year deal secures all North American distribution rights to the Oscar-winning phenom, with plans for a premium wide-format release, podcasts, and additional original content

LOS ANGELES — November 5, 2025 — Cineverse (NASDAQ: CNVS), a next-generation entertainment studio, today announced the acquisition of Pan’s Labyrinth, Guillermo del Toro’s wildly successful, Academy Award–winning film. The announcement comes ahead of the film’s 20th anniversary in 2026, when Cineverse plans to re-release it in theaters.

About Pan’s Labyrinth

Set in 1944, in the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War, the film follows young Ofelia, who arrives in the countryside with her pregnant mother, now married to the brutal Captain Vidal, tasked with eliminating remaining rebels in the nearby forest. In a hidden labyrinth, Ofelia meets an ageless Faun who reveals she is a princess from an enchanted world and gives her three tasks to reclaim her rightful place. As her mother’s failing health endangers the unborn child, Ofelia undertakes a perilous quest to complete the Faun’s tasks.

The deal includes all North American distribution rights. Cineverse plans a 2026 theatrical re-release, including premium wide-format presentations, followed by home entertainment, VOD, and streaming. The company also plans to develop additional original content around the title, including podcasts.
